New Clinical Records System – SystmOne

On 26 June 2024, The County Practice will be moving to a new clinical computer system called SystmOne. This will bring additional benefits to both the practice and patients.

This is a major piece of work for the practice team and we ask for your help, support and patience over the coming weeks. There may be some disruption to services leading up to and during the ‘Go-Live’ week.

SystmOne is currently used in GP practices, child health services, community services, prisons, hospitals, urgent care & out of hours, palliative care services, hospices and many more. SystmOne helps services share information about a patients care if the patient has consented to share their data.

Some of the advantages of the new system are:

Greatly enhanced functionality for the clinical and admin teams
Greater integrated working with other healthcare agencies, thereby reducing duplication and improving patient safety
Improved SMS messaging functionality.
The changeover is well planned; however despite training and preparation there is no doubt that for the first few weeks we are going to be slower and some services will be reduced to allow us to work with the new system. Please bear with us! Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

What does it mean to you?
Training – From 11th June is the start of our key training period, so you may notice a slight difference in our clinics.

Appointments- Between the 17th June 2024 and 28th June 2024 appointments will change. During this this period We will be working on a on the day urgent appointment service only.

Administration and other support services – processes will take longer across the transition period, as all departments need to undertake formal training for the new system.

Prescriptions – From Monday 20 May for repeat medication prescribing, the practice will be issuing double prescriptions in order to avoid repeats becoming due at critical points in the changeover period.

EMIS Patient Access – will stop on Sunday 19th June.

As the practice is changing systems to SystmOne EMIS Patient Access will cease working on the 19th June 2024.

This means you will be unable to order your prescriptions or book appointments via Patient Access.

The Practice recommends that you download the NHS APP which will link into our new system SystmOne once we are live.
